About
Alice Lu, MSPH, RD, CPT is a Registered Dietitian and the founder of Lumie Nutrition, a practice grounded in the belief that sustainable health is built through clarity, structure, and compassionate behavior change support.
The name Lumie reflects the core philosophy of her work: to illuminate what is getting in the way of progress, inspire new possibilities, and empower clients to build a lifestyle that truly works for them.
Alice works with individuals who feel stuck in cycles of confusion, inconsistency, or frustration with their health. Many come to her feeling overwhelmed by conflicting nutrition information, exhausted from repeated attempts at change, or unsure how to follow through despite knowing what they “should” be doing. Her role is to help bridge the gap between knowledge and action through personalized, sustainable strategies.
Her approach integrates evidence-based nutrition therapy with principles of behavioral coaching and health psychology. Instead of rigid rules or short-term dieting, Alice emphasizes the underlying patterns and barriers that shape long-term outcomes. She collaborates with clients to design realistic systems that support consistency, flexibility, and autonomy.
At the core of her practice is a simple belief: lasting change does not come from more restriction or more willpower, but from understanding the individual, addressing the real barriers, and building an approach that fits into real life.
Outside of work, Alice enjoys lifting heavy things at the gym, keeping an every-growing collection of plants alive, attempting to perfect her sourdough, getting overly invested in puzzles, and exploring new places through travel. She believes health should support full and enjoyable life, with room for both structure and fun along the way!
